On Friday, February 12, the Emerging Leaders of Somerset County hosted a breakfast seminar entitled “Partnering with a Recruiter.” This seminar was presented by Gretchen Gunn of MGD Services.
Among the twelve attendees were both individuals looking to expand or further their careers, as well as employers who were approaching the recruiting process from the other side. The seminar covered a broad range of guidelines applicable to both types of attendees, including the various steps taken from both the job-seeker’s and the employer’s standpoints in starting to work with a recruiting agency. Topics that were covered included payment arrangements to recruiting firms, quick resume tips, interview feedback, and the impact of social networking sites on the job hunt.
“As a trained technical professional who is now starting to deal with hiring and recruiting talent, it was good to hear about how a recruiter can effectively partner with a company, as well as some of the logistics about how the whole process works,” said seminar attendee Scott Mihalick of SSP Architectural Group.
